AD Plant, King’s Lynn

Landscape and planning consultancy services in relation to the coordination of a successful planning application for an anaerobic digestion (AD) facility to the north of Kings Lynn, adjacent to the River Ouse’s river wall and a public right of way.

The proposed facility comprised two digesters, combined heat and power plant, storage areas and tanks, flare stack, ancillary plant and buildings and a new vehicular access and would produce up to 1MW of renewable energy through the processing of cereal crop, and as a by-product produce liquid digestate for use elsewhere as a soil improver.

Commission included preparation of a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment, visualisations, a tree and hedge protection plan, ecological enhancements, and a planting and maintenance plan to safeguard long distance views and help integrate the new road into the landscape.
