Demolition and substantial new-build redevelopment of an existing school site within a sloping, mature landscape. The site included an area of Protected Open Space and was adjacent to a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The planning application was supported by a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment and ecology and arboriculture surveys and assessments.
The new school was focussed around a large courtyard, retained existing trees, and featured a sunken performance area with music stave paving and treble clef seating to reflect the music specialism of the Academy.
